We have taken the decision not to be licensed for civil partnerships at this time, as we wish to support our local church which is literally right opposite the barn. Our vicar would be happy to discuss marrying you in this beautiful church. However, if you prefer we can offer ring ceremonies/blessings in the barn during the summer months, at no extra charge, please ask for details.
Yes, there is a choice of two very professional caterers you can use, either Crucial Cuisine or Toms Kitchen
Both offer an extensive choice of menus and have years of experience of working at The Thatch Barn.
We are happy for you to provide your own wine or sparkling wine for the arrival reception, during the meal and for a toast. There is a set corkage charge for any wines or bubbly that you wish to bring in, which is £8 per 75cl bottle. No other drinks are permitted to be brought into the venue and all other drinks are available from the very reasonably priced bar that we provide.
Music has to finish at 11.30pm and guest should vacate the building by 11.45pm. We are situated in a small village and we politely ask you to leave the village, respecting our neighbours.
To ensure total relaxation and so that you can set up the barn how you want to, it is available to you for setting up the day before between 10.30 am and 6pm. The day after the wedding we ask you to pop back to the venue to collect your belongings.
Yelling is a tiny village and whilst there is just one small barn conversion, within walking distance of The Thatch Barn, for 2 persons, there is no other accommodation in the village. However we do encourage people to leave their cars overnight and book nearby accommodation in St Neots, St Ives and Huntingdon, just a 10 minute taxi drive away.
We are licensed to seat up to 100 persons during the day for a meal and up to 120 for dancing in the evening. So if you have 80 guests to your daytime reception, you could invite a further 40 to the evening party!
